www.roseline-koener.com Roseline is a passionate artist, inspired by the vibrations and power of colors; textures and rhythms in nature; music and cultures. She obtained an MA in Art History and Archeology from Brussels University, and also studied at La Cambre in Brussels, the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, the New York Studio School and San Francisco Art Institute.
New York Times critic Deirdre Greben describes Ms. Koener’s work as such: “Though constructed of handmade paper, fabric, pastel, ink and pigments, Koener's colorful abstractions evoke the opulent hues and warm, spiritual glow of stained glass. But unlike the chapel windows they conjure up, her compositions don't dim interior light, instead they project light from within. Koener’s intensity and vibrancy of colors was originally inspired by her travels to Senegal -Africa- a land full of vibrant colors, tribal rhythms, textures and patterns. Her free-flowing process of emergence and pictures anchor in solid ground. These single-color bases give the works depth, connect their parts and circulate the energy, melding passages punctuated by staccato rhythms, layers upon layers of color building to a harmonious crescendo.”
Worldwide artist and traveler, creativity growth educator and workshop leader, Roseline Koener has exhibited throughout the world in: Europe (Art galleries in Brussels, Geneva, Amsterdam, and Pont-Aven), Mexico (Museo de Michoacan, Morelia; Museo de Arte, Sinaloa; Museo de Tijuana), Canada (Toronto International Art Fair), The United States (Walter Wickiser Gallery, New York; International Art Fair in Miami, Houston, Silicon Valley and Los Angeles), and in Hong Kong at the Contemporary Art Fair.
